Haschemi Lab

In our interdisciplinary research, we explore biochemical pathways and investigate metabolic reprogramming-events in cells to ultimately understand their functional and physiological consequences in vivo. In ongoing studies, we are focusing on immunometabolism and cancer metabolism. We are interested in disentangling the relationships and mechanism linking macrophage metabolism and effector functions in various human disease, including atherosclerosis and cancer. To achieve this, we make use of biochemical and molecular approaches, mouse genetics, clinical samples and even develop new methods or tools to enable groundbreaking insights into human biology and medicine.
