* CE OPPORTUNITIES GALORE
Registrants for the 7ICML and MLA'95 will have a terrific
selection of seminars and courses to choose from when they join
their colleagues in Washington, D.C. The following courses are planned
at this time:

7ICML CE Seminars - Saturday May 6, 9:00am - 5:00pm
---------------------------------------------------
1. Food and Human Nutrition Information Resources
Participants will be introduced to a wide variety of paper and electronic
information resources. Presentations and demonstrations will cover both
traditional and the very latest publications, databases, electronic
bulletin boards, Internet discussion groups, listservs, gophers, and
related systems.
Strategies for tracking down hard-to-find answers to difficult reference
questions using internationally available resources will be discussed in
this interactive session, which will feature database searching techniques
and the use of the Internet.

2. Educating Medical Librarians for the Global Village
This course will focus on three themes: the changes in the health
information environment to which LIS educators must respond as they educate
the next generation of medical librarians, the interdisciplinary skills
needed for success as a medical librarian in the global village, and the
reform of medical library education and LIS curricula that are necessary to
meet these challenges. This session will emphasize the use of
communications techniques and problem-based learning methods.

3. Resources in Toxicology and Environmental Health
According to the US. Department of Health and Human Services, toxic
substances are the fifth underlying cause of death in the United States.
The situation is equally serious in other countries. This course will
introduce librarians to the fields of toxicology and environmental health
and direct them towards vital information resources.
