We are pleased to announce the establishment of the National
Collegiate Emergency Medical Services Listserv (NCEMSF).

In 1993, in response to an apparent need for a information exchange
among these groups, the National Collegiate EMS Foundation (NCEMSF)
was established. Started as a grassroots organization from
Georgetown University in Washington, DC, the group quickly grew and
was able to hold its first conference in April, 1994. The conference
attracted 130+ people from over 30 schools.

This school year, the NCEMSF has gone electronic. The implementation
of a dedicated listserv and a WWW page has made information exchange
among the campus EMS community easier. It is hoped that all members
of the NCEMSF will make information about their organization
available on the WWW and will actively participate in ongoing
discussions about campus EMS issues.

To subscribe to the NCEMSF listserv, send an e-mail message to
majordomo@indiana.edu. There should be no subject, and the only text
in the message should be: (NOTE the special list name)

subscribe ssavett_ncemsf

(no signature files, please!) You should get a welcome message back
almost immediately.

To access the World Wide Web (WWW) page, use Mosiac, Lynx, or Cello
to access the Universal Resource Locator (URL) of:

Depends on what kinds of questions you're getting. We are very fond of

BioScan: the Worldwide Biotech Industry Reporting Service (Oryx Press).

It's a loose-leaf and has a lot of information about the companies beyond
the names and addresses. For example, if you were to look up Chiron
you would get the number of employees, its history in brief, what
facilities it has, a stock-financial history, what other companies have
substantial holdings in Chiron, what companies it is investing in, what
its subsidiaries are, what business agreements they have, what they report
that they are working on (including what stage of clinical trials) and
what products it now has on the market. Not bad.
