AF058: Ribosomal protein L3
- Pfam domains
- PF00297: Ribosomal protein L3
Biochemical properties
Ribosomal protein L3 is one of the proteins from the large ribosomal subunit. In Escherichia coli, L3 is known to bind to the 23S rRNA and may participate in the formation of the peptidyltransferase center of the ribosome [1].
Allergological significance
Asp f 23, an IgE binding L3 protein from Aspergillus fumigatus was isolated from a cDNA library using a pool of sera from patients with allergic bronchopulmonary aspergillosis [2].
