AF089: Lipid-binding serum glycoprotein
- Pfam domains
- PF01273: LBP / BPI / CETP family, N-terminal domain
Biochemical properties
A number of mammalian lipid-binding serum glycoproteins belong to this family. They include the lipopolysaccharide-binding protein (LBP), the bactericidal permeability-increasing protein (BPI), the cholesteryl ester transfer protein (CETP) and the phospholipid transfer protein (PLTP).
Allergological significance
The horse dander allergens Equ c 4 and Equ c 5 are latherins, a surfactant protein in sweat [1, 2].
