• Our scientific focus is the discovery of pathomechanisms in diseases related to cardio-thoracic surgery . 
• We aim to gain a greater understanding in currently accepted concepts of disease genesis in humans and their therapy.
• Peer-review and Internal Review Boards (ethics committee) are an obligatory part of our research progress.
• We believe that the pursuit of knowledge can only be achieved through intensive  interactions and clear communication within the scientific community.
