Clinics, Institutes, Centres and Special Institutes
The organizational units of the Medical University of Vienna are divided into clinics, clinical institutes and centres. Except for the University Dental Clinic, all these units are located at the General Hospital of Vienna (AKH), which at the same time functions as the hospital of the Medical University of Vienna. The theoretical institutes as well as those dedicated to teaching are allocated as centres and special institutes.
Bernhard Gottlieb University of Dentistry
The Bernhard Gottlieb University Clinic of Dentistry (Universitätsklinik für Zahn-, Mund und Kieferheilkunde Ges.m.b.H, or BGZMK for short) offers a variety of high-quality treatment methods in its eight divisions. Every year, 20,000 patients are cared for here on an out-patient basis. Many of them undergo special treatments based on the results of the latest research.
Comprehensive Cancer Center Vienna
The Comprehensive Cancer Center Vienna (CCC) is a joint institute of the Medical University of Vienna and the General Hospital of Vienna (AKH). It integrates interdisciplinary, competent medical care to cancer patients in clinical and basic research and provides highest quality teaching.
Max F. Perutz Laboratories
The Max F. Perutz Laboratories (MFPL) are a center established by the University of Vienna and the Medical University of Vienna to foster excellence in research and education in the area of molecular biology.
