
The Medical University of Vienna is the first Austrian medical university to operate in the international healthcare market. Participation in major international projects make it possible for the Medical University of Vienna and its staff to expand its scientific and commercial know-how and to obtain new financial resources. The Medical University of Vienna International Hospital Operations GmbH (MUVI) was founded in 2005 for this purpose; its core activity is participation in international healthcare projects. The Managing Directors are Mag.a Elisabeth Chalupa-Gartner and Professor Christian Herold, MD, of the University Clinic for Radiodiagnostics.
2007: Time for "MUV-ing"
Major international projects, significant research with other organizations, and interdisciplinary paths of study–the Medical University of Vienna is "MUV-ing." In addition, the legislative period of the new rectorship began on 1 October.
As a modern research and educational organization that meets or exceeds international standards, the Medical University of Vienna is initiating important activities in several core areas to promote the University’s international profile. This includes conducting overseas healthcare management projects, establishing focus research areas, and organizing postgraduate courses.
