Together with the consortial partner VAMED, this summer saw the Medical University of Vienna International being awarded the task of managing a new hospital project in Abu Dhabi. In June of 2007, a management contract with the Al Ain Hospital in Abu Dhabi was agreed upon by the consortium and the General Health Authority of Abu Dhabi. The MUVI/ VAMED consortium is one step aheadThe consortium won out over thirty other bidders who responded to the invitation to tender proposals. The overall management of the Al Ain Hospital will be performed by the Medical University of Vienna International/VAMED consortium. Core issues include the strategic re-alignment of the hospital. The Medical University of Vienna International will be responsible for the medical management of the hospital, and, analogous to the project in Kuala Lumpur, will provide the Medical Director and Senior Medical Advisors from Vienna General Hospital.The MUVI is an established entity in the healthcare market "Aside from the financial results, these projects are also an advertisement for the Medical University of Vienna International brand in the African, Arabian, and Southeast Asian regions, which contributes significantly to increasing the Medical University of Vienna's profile," said Rector Professor Wolfgang Schütz.
