In 2005, the then-fledgling Medical University International was Austria's first medical university to take advantage of the opportunity to participate in a major international project in the field of healthcare management, the "Prince Court Medical Center" in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia.The Medical University of Vienna was able to put its expertise to the test internationally and, in so doing, establish a reputation as a reliable and innovative project partner. Project partners Vamed and PetronasIt was also in 2005 that the Medical University of Vienna International and our consortium partner, VAMED, began planning activities for the high-end-quality hospital in Kuala Lumpur, the "Prince Court Medical Center". The oil company, Petronas, which is one of the most important commercial players in Southeast Asia, is the major investor. The Medical University of Vienna provides, within the management team the Chief Medical Officer, who is responsible for the establishment and operation of all the medical aspects associated with the project, including nurses and allied health professionals. The combination of excellent management, as well as state-of-the-art medical and information technology, guarantees that the "Prince Court Medical Center" (PCMC) project will be as successful as MUVI's other similar projects.
Five-star hospital The Prince Court Medical Center is one of the largest private hospitals in the Klang Valley region. Each of the 330 beds has a share of the total usable area of 300 m², which, by international standards, represents a very high level of quality. In addition to high-quality medicine, the patients enjoy the ambience and service of a five star hotel. Knowledge transfer - Vienna to Kuala LumpurIn line with the development of the CoEs, initial staffing is planned at approximately 550 employees; this figure will rise to around 750 during the completion phase. The personnel will primarily consist of local healthcare professionals; selection of the best employees will be conducted with the support and expertise of MedUni Vienna. In addition to this, MedUni Vienna specialists from the field of telemedicine and quality management, as well as senior medical specialists from clinical departments, will be provided. The Chief Medical Officer (CMO), designated by the Medical University of Vienna, is responsible for the formation of the entire medical operation, the establishment of the five Centers of Excellence, and the training of all medical personnel.As a result of the close cooperation with local personnel, the know-how and scientific expertise of the Medical University of Vienna will be transferred.
