Arbitration Committee

The Arbitration Committee is responsible for mediation in case of disputes and the resolution of internal conflictive situations.

The Arbitration Committee was newly constituted following expiry of the first term on 27.3.06. Pursuant to § 43 (1) of the 2002 University Act, the Arbitration Committee has the following tasks:

1. Mediation in case of disputes between members of the Medical University of Vienna
2. Decisions about complaints by the working group for equal opportunities regarding discrimination due to sex by the decision of a university body

Pursuant to § 43  (9) of the 2002 University Act, the following individuals have been nominated members of the Arbitration Committee of the Medical University of Vienna - by the Senate, University Council and the working group for equal opportunities:

Senate:
Dr.in Regina M. Jankowitsch, M.A. (coaching & moderation)
Prof. Dr. Josef Shaked (Specialist Doctor for Psychiatry and Psychotherapist)

University Council:
Dr.in Alexandra Knell (lawyer)
Dr. Florian Keschmann (lawyer)

Working group for equal opportunities:
Ao.Univ. Prof. Dr. Herbert Watzke (doctor)
Dr.in Helene Klaar (lawyer)

In the constituting meeting of 27.3.2006, Mr Univ. Prof. Dr. Herbert Watzke was re-appointed Chairperson and Ms Dr.in Helene Klaar appointed Deputy Chairperson of the Arbitration Committee of the Medical University of Vienna. The Arbitration Committee's term is two years.
