Focus
The purpose of this Leadership-program is to meet the specific needs of leaders who are responsible for Research projects with financial involvement of an external third party. Within the three workshops we will focus on the specific dynamics of intense short- and mid-term project cooperation. The central challenges of leading employees in terms of motivation, development and commitment will be covered and enriched with aspects of group dynamics, communication and conflict solving. State-of-the-art leadership theory and tools will be presented and applied to the current situations in forms of case work and collegial case supervision as well as there will be a lot of time for discussion, analysis of specific questions and networking.
Content
Workshop 1: „Leadership in high-performing teams“
Key aspects for Leaders: Inquiry in the role of a Leader, Raising awareness of the impacts and limits of Leadership.
Leading teams and developing team members:
Challenges in handling high-performing teams, Detection of potentials and motivational drivers as a solid base for selection and development of team members.
Workshop 2: „Communication and Conflict solving in teams“
Communication: Raising commitment and cooperation, Increasing of the impact of messages, Designing conversations, Professional use of Questions, Communication in team situations.
Handling conflicts: Using differences and professional dealing with contradictions
Workshop 3: „The Leader as consultant“
Introduction of tools for professional support among leaders.
Collegial case supervision (Practice and Case work in small groups) as a specific method for exchange and networking.
We would like to point out that the contents of both courses „Führen von wissenschaftlichen Teams: Die besondere Herausforderungen von Hochleistungsteams bewältigen“ and „Leading scientific-research teams: Dealing with the specific challenges of high-performing teams“ are the same.
Target group
Leaders that are responsible for Research Projects with external involvement, Current Research Team Members, who will take over responsibility in such projects in the future.

PhD Jörg Habenicht, Senior Consultant and trainer. Management training in the areas of conflict, leadership, project management and “leadership through performance revies”.
Facilitation of large group events, retreats, and workshops
