Postdoctoral Research Assistant   

The Wellcome Trust Centre for Human Genetics, Oxford

Grade 8: £36,862 - £44,016 p.a.

Applications are invited for a Postdoctoral Research Assistant to join the BHF Centre for Cardiovascular Target Discovery based within the University’s newly established Target Discovery Institute (http://www.tdi.ox.ac.uk/home).

We are looking for a cell biologist with a PhD or equivalent, and substantial post-doctoral experience in cellular imaging technology, image-based assays of cellular morphology and function, and high content image-based screening and analysis. The appointee will be responsible for developing cellular imaging based assays relevant to cardiovascular disease, transferring them to high content screening imaging platforms, designing and implementing advanced high content analysis protocols and analysing data from large scale screening experiments using RNAi and small molecules.

The position is funded by a British Heart Foundation Program Grant and is fixed term for up to 5 years in the first instance.  The appointee will report to Professor Shoumo Bhattacharya, (sbhattac@well.ox.ac.uk). Informal  discussion is highly recommended.
