The Research Institution for Intensive Therapy is
giving - also in the future substantial impulses for an integration of intensive
medical research into the speciality of anaesthesiology and surgery, especially by means
of a traditionally close cooperation with the Institute of Medical Computer Sciences
(IMC), as for example:
Creation and development of a Patient-Data-Management-System serving as a forerunner
within the General Hospital, programming a Performance-Documentation-System (see
next page) for electronic documentation of data and performance, statistical analyses
of scientific and patient-related data, quality control (ICDOC), circulatory research,
ventilation projects (lung model), expert systems, "decision making".
In January 1989, Univ.Prof.Dr.W.Haider was
infinitely nominated by the Federal Minister as the Head (Chairman) of the Common Office
'Research Institution for Intensive Therapy'. The equivalent future utilization of the
assigned resources is of great importance in regard of intensive medical research in the
field of cardiovascular diseases:
