From 1999 to 2003 I studied medicine at the University of Vienna. After I finished I started my doctoral thesis in the lab of Prof. Gasche. The topic of this work is thrombocytosis in the setting of iron deficiency.

Currently I am a specialist-in-training for internal medicine. My current projects include two clinical study on the topic iron supplementation for IBD-associated iron deficiency anemia and thrombocytosis in iron deficiency anemia. Besides the clinical work, we started to develop an animal model of colon carcinoma to test chemopreventive drugs such as mesalazine.
