Risk analysis is a vital activity in modern society. It provides essential guidance for decisions about public policy, medical therapy, financial activity, and international security. Our committee serves the International Statistical Institute by promoting the development of better risk analysis methodology and advocating for appropriate use of risk analysis in important applications. Among other activities, we organize scientific conferences.
The International Society for Business and Industrial Statistics and the ISI Committee on Risk Analysis are jointly holding a satellite meeting of the World Statistics Conference on August 24, 2013 (the day before the WSC starts). The City University of Hong Kong has graciously agreed to host the conference.
The website for the satellite meeting is http://stat.duke.edu/~banks/icra-isbis/ and we are ready to receive proposals for talks and sessions. A number have already been submitted. If you will be in Hong Kong for the WSC and are interested in our theme, Statistics in Business, Industry, and Risk Management, please consider registering for the meeting.
The ISI Committee on Risk Analysis is proud to announce its fifth international conference, which will be held in Tomar, Portugal on May 30-June 1 of 2013. More information can be found at the conference website: https://sites.google.com/site/2013icra5/
