There is a broad and multidisciplinary competence available at the Institute to manage the variety of scientific tasks as well as to ensure a high level of expertise. This compentence is based on years of research work, longstanding international cooperation, scientific engagement and extensive methodological knowledge.
Development, growth and death of cancer cells can be investigated by a large number of well-established models. As service latest "Know-How" in cutting-edge technologies is provided by experienced professionals ("Core Facilities"), partly in close cooperation with other Institutes of the Medical University of Vienna (f. i. the platform "Molecular Technology Network", "Mol TecNet").
Herewith, at IKF exits - unique in Austria - an outstanding expertise of interdisciplinary analysis of cancer-relevant questions in the fields of molecular biology, genetics, biochemistry, cell biology, toxikology and preclinical research.
