Abstract. The ability to properly diagnose language disorders at an early age is very important for early intervention in order to ensure proper socialization of children and to reduce the possibility of scholastic failure. Specific Language Impairment (SLI) is a disorder of spoken language ability where variety of problems in many aspects of language exists. Unfortunately, there are a variety of disorders with similar characteristics making the differential diagnosis difficult. This paper discusses the use of Fuzzy Cognitive Maps (FCM) as a diagnostic model for SLI.
