Our
laboratory is part of the Institute of Pharmacology, Center for
Physiology and Pharmacology (Head: Prof. Michael Freissmuth) at the
Medical University of Vienna, Austria. Our main
research interests are (i) the discovery, biological and
pharmacological characterization and application of bioactive
natural peptides, in particular their application as novel GPCR
ligands, as well as (ii) the study of GPCR signaling and
interacting partners using Proteomics. Furthermore we are interested in
the immunological properties of plant cyclotides and other circular
peptides.
Besides basic biochemical and pharmacological research, we host the MS core facility of the Center for Physiology and Pharmacology and provide Proteomics and Peptidomics analysis for in-house collaborators and external research partners.
