Our shotgun approach makes use of a protein purification/pre-fractionation step. Each protein fraction is separated by SDS-PAGE according to the molecular weight of proteins. Above you can see a silver stained gel. Each lane gets cut into slices, which are subsequently digested using trypsin. Each resulting peptide fraction is then analyzed via LC-MS/MS.
