Proteins are a kind of versatile micro-machines making life work. Human cells are capable of making more than 20.000 different proteins, considering posttranslational modifications we are talking about maybe a million different entities.
We try to understand what's going on in cells and tissues, by analysing the proteins expressed at a given functional (pathological) state. For that aim we investigate various kinds of in vitro reference systems and develop bioinformatics tools in order to define functional protein clusters.
