During studies a doctoral thesis is to be elaborated and accompanying courses are attended. Courses and doctoral thesis are allocated to thematic programs.
One of these thematic programs is to be chosen officially matched with the theme of your planned doctoral thesis. Courses offered by other thematic programs can be taken as well as far as they fit the scientific background of the thesis project.
Please contact the involved program coordinator prior to admission in order to get more detailed information about the thematic program !!
Additional to the accompanying courses within the chosen thematic program you have to attend courses within the so-called “Propedeutics”.
It is strongly recommended to find a supervisor for the doctoral thesis prior to admission! Please see relevant supervisors evaluated in the thematic programs.
If the supervisor is not evaluated within the chosen thematic program please ask her/him to contact the relevant program coordinator in order to initiate an admission procedure.
The doctoral thesis has to be associated with a peer-reviewed and funded research project. The doctorand can be financially supported (employed) via this project. Project and possible support/employment please discuss with the supervisor.
At least one first-author paper in the course of the thesis project has to be published in a peer-reviewed journal.
