Cumulative doctoral thesis:
The compilation of a cumulative doctoral thesis (using publications) is possible.
Please note that the work has to be submitted formally as doctoral thesis, joint cover page, joint abstracts (German and English), joint introduction and joint discussion are a minimum requirement! The joint introduction and joint discussion shall be at least 50% of the total length of the doctoral thesis.
You should concentrate on the main theme (where e.g. the first-author publication will be published), possible further themes should be cited as additional outcomes/projects. Overmore there should be cited which experiments are carried out by the doctorand. Even better it is to list up the contributions of the co-authors.
Some revievers, however, are sensitive to such "collected editions" and sometimes grade worser.
See online doctoral theses for your info under "Alumni".
