Graduation

The diploma is delivered to the doctorand at the MUV terminal about one week after the doctoral viva. The date of deliverance is the date of graduation.

Graduates of the Doctoral Program of Applied Medical Science are awarded the academic degree "Doctor scientiae medicae", in short "Dr.scient.med.", the title preceding the name.

Graduates in Austrian medical or dental basic studies with the academic degree Dr.med.univ. or Dr.med.dent. will receive the academic degree Dr.med.univ. et scient.med. <Name> or Dr.med.dent. et scient.med. <Name>.

Graduates in other Austrian basic studies are awarded the academic degree Dr.scient.med. following the academic degree of the basic studies, e.g. Mag. or Dipl.-Ing. Dr.scient.med. <Name>.

Academic ceremony

The attendance at an academic ceremony at the Medical University of Vienna is optional. Each ceremony is held for a maximum of 5 participants only. During the ceremony is delivered a deed. Dates and times can be arranged after the graduation. Costs: 80 Euro (ceremony and deed)
