Ongoing research projects

 

Since 1997: Network on epidemiological surveillance and control of vaccine preventable diseases in hospitalised children, including acute rotavirus gastroenteritis, Pertussis, hepatitis A, B and C, mumps, measles and invasive Haemophilus Influenzae Serotype B.

 

Since 1999: Laboratory-based network on epidemiological surveillance and control of vaccine preventable diseases, including acute rotavirus gastroenteritis, Pertussis, hepatitis A, B and C, mumps, measles and invasive Haemophilus Influenzae Serotype B.

 

Since 2000: Prospective evaluation of the national incidence of IPD and serotypes of Streptococcus pneumoniae in children up to 5 years of age within an observational study

 

Since 2002: Phase IV TBE vaccination study in adults – Evaluation of immunogenicity and safety of the polygeline-free TBE vaccine in adults, when used as booster at least 3 years after primary or booster TBE immunization.

 

Since 2005: Long term immunogenicity of the japanese encephalitis vaccine IC51 (JE-PIV). An uncontrolled phase 3 follow-up study.

 

Since 2007: An Open Label Phase III study of a Vero Cell-Derived whole Virus H5N1 influenza vaccine to assess the Immunogenicity and Safety and to investigate need for and timing of a Booster Vaccination.

 

Since 2007: Seroprevalence study regarding relevant vaccine-preventable diseases in Austrian children aged 5 to 7 years.

 

Since 2007: Prospective 5-years rotavirus strain surveillance of hospitalized and nonhospitalized children in Austria.
