The Felix Bronner Dissertation Fellowship of the Austrian Society for Bone and Mineral Research was awarded to Mag. Julia Höbaus for her project: “Does CYP24A1 overexpression provide a growth advantage during colorectal tumour progression?” The award of the 25000 € fellowship, is targeted to enable outstanding young researchers at doctorate level to pursue original scientific research to finish their dissertation.

Mag. Julia Höbaus has been working on her dissertation “Mechanisms of 25 Hydroxyvitamin D3-24-Hydroxylase overexpression in Colorectal Cancer” since 2010 in the “Tumourpathology Group” of Assist. Prof. Dr. Enikö Kallay in the Department of Pathophysiology and Allergy Research. Her results led to new hypotheses which she can now pursue with the help of the generous Felix Bronner Fellowship of the AuSBMR.
