With great pleasure and pride I can report that at the last Board meeting of the FWF, held from November 30 till December 2, 2015, a Special Research Programme (SFB) and a Doctoral Programme (DK), which involve a high participation of our Center, were approved.
The Special Research Programme “Towards prevention and therapy of allergy” has the strongest integration of the Center and is directed by Rudolf Valenta. The spokesman of the PhD-Programme “Cell Communication in Health and Disease” (CCHD) is Stephan Böhm from the Pharmacology.
The participating principal investigators of our Center are Barbara Bohle, Sabine Flicker, Karin Hoffmann-Sommergruber, Johannes Huppa, Erika Jensen-Jarolim, Winfried Pickl, Rudolf Valenta, Susanne Vrtala, Ursula Wiedermann-Schmidt and myself.
From the 9 million Euros approved to the programme projects more than 5 million Euros are allocated to projects proposed by our principal investigators, which means that for the next 3 years 9 PhD positions and 12 PostDoc positions for 21 highly motivated early stage researchers can be created at our Center.
