This year it was a great success for the Center because 3 of our assistants were among the prize-winners:
CLEMENS VON PIRQUET AWARD 2010 of ÖGAI, a prize donated by ALK-Abelló GmbH about 3.000, - € for outstanding work in the field of allergological research to Dr. Irene Mittermann from the Institute of Pathophysiology for their work, "Recombinant allergen-IgE-based testing to distinguish bee and wasp allergy J. KARL LANDSTEINER AWARD 2010 of ÖGAI, one from Karl Landsteiner & Eisler Terramare Foundation Memory-Private Foundation donated prize of 3.000, - € for outstanding work in the field of immunological research, to Dr. Shinya Sakaguchi from the Institute of Immunology for his work "The zinc-finger protein MAZR is part of the transcription factor network that controls the CD4 versus CD8 lineage fate of double-positive thymocytes Nature Immunology 11:442 (2010)
ÖGAI DISSERTATION PRIZE of 1.500, - € for the award of dissertations with scientifically excellent content in the field of allergology and immunology to Dr. Julia Wallmann from the Institute of Pathophysiology for their work "Mimotopes for therapy of grass pollen-induced asthma: proof of concept studies in a mouse model pathophysiologically relevant memory"
