Third place of the Science2business Award 2011 for a Bridge project at the IPA
On 03/15/2011, in the course of the “life-science-success 2011” event, the Bridge project (FFG 818 094), submitted by the Department for Pathophysiology and Allergy Research (IPA/CePII/MedUniWien), was awarded third place of the science2business Award 2011.
In this interdisciplinary project, “A new vista on disease patterns – automated cell-recognition technology for research and diagnostics”, Dr. Giovanna Bises, Ao. Univ.-Prof. Dr. Isabella Ellinger und Ao. Univ.-Prof. Dr. Theresia Thalhammer from IPA in cooperation with image processing experts from TissueGnostics GmbH (Vienna) and Seewald Solutions (Vienna) advance the field of automated object recognition in microscopic samples for in silico computer-based analysis of cells in the context of the surrounding tissue.
