Services

Comprehensive investigation, counseling, and treatment of patients with macular, retinal, and disorders of the vitreous requiring surgery, such as:

macular hole, macular pucker (epiretinal membrane/epiretinal gliosis), vitreomacular traction syndrome (VMTS),
retinal detachment, vitreous hemorrhage,
vitreous opacities (synchysis scintillans),
combined anterior and posterior segment surgery (combined cataract and retinal surgery), and other specific retinal problems such as retinoschisis.

Highlights / Clinical Research

2008 switched to 23-Gauge vitrectomy system.
Additional anti-VEGF therapy.
Pre- and postoperative studies with high-resolution 3D optical coherence tomography (HR-OCT).

Current studies

• Investigation of the morphology and function of the retina after vitreoretinal surgery using HR-OCT

• The influence of postoperative corticosteroid therapy after vitreoretinal surgery on retinal morphological and functional outcomes

• Comparison of techniques for retinal detachment surgery

• Intravitreal drug therapy

• Analysis of ocular cytokines in different retinal diseases

Technical Equipment

HR-OCT, Flurescein angiography, 23-gauge vitrectomy with wide-angle optics system.

Annual Statistics

Patient visits: 2500; Operations: 1000

Our team will personally care for patients from the first contact in the clinic, through the operation itself, until the last follow-up visit in the clinic.
