The Vienna Clinical Trial Center (VTC) represents an important part of our research processes. The main task of VTC is to implement clinical studies in the most optimal way. Our highly qualified multidisciplinary team consists of Ophthalmologists, Study Coordinators, Operators and Technicians. Along with the wide range of state of the art medical equipment implements our staff the clinical studies according to the relevant study protocols.

A close collaboration exists between the Department of Ophthalmology and Optometry and the other Departments of Vienna General Hospital that optimizes and connects the medical services. International cooperation with other medical institutions, research development divisions and industry partners are having an extremely important role.

VTC has a long time experience in performing significantly important international clinical studies in cooperation with major industry partners. We provide care for a large number of outpatients at the Department of Ophthalmology (approx. 3000 people week). As a result of this we have the possibility of enrol a large number of patients into our studies.
