The interdisciplinary study in intensive care combines practical relevance with scientific standards.

Relevant international and evidence-based knowledge for the field of intensive care is taught in order to meet future growing demands in a dynamic field of practice. High priority is given to research-oriented and research-led teaching and learning, which should sensitise the study participants to scientific and open thinking and working. Knowledge is imparted using innovative, highly didactic methods.

Subject-specific internships and targeted transfer tasks promote and support the circulation of knowledge between theory and practice.

Graduates of the intensive care study reflect and critically examine their own professional behaviour on the basis of scientific findings and adapt them accordingly (“reflective practitioner”).

This results in a variety of opportunities and perspectives for further professional careers and development.

This university study is carried out in cooperation with the Nursing Academy of the Brothers of Mercy.
