This course should teach gender-specific basics, needed in health care, medical-clinical field, research, apprenticeship and in-service training and in health policy, to suite to the individual gender-specific needs of women and men in the field of healthcare.
Emphases are the following:
- Mediation of psychosocial basic knowledge in the different fields.
- Mediation of practical gender-sensitive skills and attitudes toenable graduates to conduct evidence-based gender-sensitive in their own work.
- Mediation of skills to evaluate scientific discoveries from different medical fields gender-specifically and use them practically.
- Dealing with and reflection of theoretical basics of the different subjects studied and in working environment use of them to solve complex problems of patients.
The attendance at the lectures is obligatory. In any case 85% of each module has to be attended.
If more than the permitted extent of hours has been missed, at the written request of the student the scientific head of the university course decide if it is allowed to make the defence of the master’s thesis or if the module must be repeated.
Reasoned absences (e.g. illness, bereavement) in lectures with continuous assessment can be tolerated in a certain scope (Reference value: 15% of the whole lecture time). Proof of these absences will be required. If applicable, possibilities to repeat the lectures with continuous assessment or possibilities to substitute these lectures will get determined from the scientific head of the university course.
