Our research is focused on phospholipid signal transduction and its contribution in myeloid cell biology in the context of acute and chronic inflammatory diseases.
Techniques, methods & infrastructure
To achieve our research goals we make use of a variety of different genetically modified mice. These strains are then subjected to murine models of autoimmunity, acute and chronic inflammation. To visualize inflammatory processes in living organisms, we use an IVIS small animal imaging system. Further analyses, such as functional assays, FACS and transcriptomics are done mainly on sorted myeloid cells, such as macrophages and dendritic cells, derived directly from the animals.
