Prof. Erika Jensen-Jarolim, MD is an international expert in allergology.
Studies, doctorate in medicine and specialist training in immunology took place at the University of Vienna, supplemented by several years abroad at the University Hospital Inselspital in Bern, CH, as well as at the Rigshospital, University Clinic Copenhagen, DK.
She is chief editor of the World Allergy Organization Journal, and is involved in working groups of the European Academy of Allergy and Clinical Immunology (EAACI), the American Academy of Allergy, Asthma and Immunology (AAAAI) ), and is a member of the Austrian microbiome initiative amici.
Scientifically she concentrates on molecular allergology, but also reaches out to the interface to oncology. Consequently, she initiated the "AllergoOncology" field in 2006, which since has gained international recognition.
Today Erika Jensen-Jarolim chairs the unit for Comparative Immunology and Oncology, at the Institute for Pathophysiology and Allergy Research, Medical University Vienna. Further, she chairs the interuniversity Messerli Research Institute in Vienna, supported by the Swiss Messerli Foundation.
Her academic oeuvre comprises more than 250 publications in PubMed.
