In 2012 Peter Pietschmann edited „Principles of Osteoimmunology – Molecular Mechanisms and Clinical Applications“. Now the second, revised edition has been published by Springer Nature, again under the editorship of Peter Pietschmann.
Osteoimmunology, the main research topic of Peter Pietschmann’s group, is a very promising field on interactions beween bone and the immune system. Examples of diseases with a strong osteoimmune background are osteoporosis, rheumatoid arthritis and posttransplantation bone disease. The book is intended for scientists working in immunology and pathophysiology as well as physicians interested in osteology.
