Prestigious PhD Thesis Award for Dominika Polak!
Dominika Polak has received the “Best PhD Thesis award 2019” from the Polish Society of
Allergology. Her thesis entitled “The role of neutrophils in IgE-mediated allergy” was conducted under the supervision of Professor Barbara Bohle within the FWF-funded PhD program "Molecular, cellular and clinical allergolgoy (MCCA). In her thesis she has found a novel role for human neutrophils in the pathophysiology of allergic disorders.
The Polish Society of Allergology Award of Professor M. Obtułowicz is an annual prize for the excellent achievements during PhD studies. The prize, awarded for the best doctorates in the field of allergology, was named after Professor Oblutowicz who worked at the Dermatological Clinic of the Jagiellonian University in Kraków in the 1930s and fought four the recognition of the importance of allergic diseases.
The Polish Society of Allergology (PSA) was founded in 1982 and has is the largest allergology organization in Poland with over 1700 members.
Its major aim is the the cooperation of general practitioners, pediatricians, dermatologists and laryngologists in the field of allergology.
Moreover, PSA organizes some of the largest scientific conferences and congresses in Poland.
