The second block (2nd semester, 2 hours/week, 2 ECTS points) includes lectures on regeneration of heart and blood vessels, diagnostics, therapy and special tools in clinical research. The detailed contents and timetable of the basic seminars will be announced separately.
In the Journal Clubs students will present recently published scientific papers relevant for the respective research group and critically discuss these papers within the group. In general, Journal Clubs should take place once a week. It is anticipated that these Journal Clubs are specifically research group-oriented; however they are open for students of all participating research groups.
In Thesis Seminars students will present their current research work, and protocols and results will be critically discussed. In general these seminars should take place once a week in small groups. In addition there will be Practical Seminars, in which students should gain insight into advanced techniques employed in research in the field of cardiovascular and pulmonary medicine.
