Personal statement
My professional work as physician and University professor is devoted to Neuropathology and interdisciplinary Clinical Neurosciences. In the field of brain tumours, I am mentoring and supervising investigations aimed at biomarker translation and validation. I have initiated and I am coordinating the Austrian Brain Tumour Registry (ABTR), which assesses burden of disease, patterns of care, and outcome of brain tumors at the population level, and builds the basis for international collaborations. As initiator and coordinator of the multidisciplinary doctoral program Clinical Neurosciences (CLINS) I am committed to providing a postgraduate multidisciplinary learning and training environment for young medical neuroscientists at an internationally recognised level.
