After successful organization of eight international workshops we proudly announce the9th International Workshop Bridge Gaps – Cross Roads. In February 2016 we are holding for the first time a Joint Symposium of four PhD programs: Cell Communication in Health and Disease (CCHD ), Inflammation and Immunity (IAI), Molecular, Cellular and Clinical Allergology (MCCA) and Immunity in Cancer and Allergy (ICA) of Medical University of Vienna and University of Salzburg.
The CCHD is a graduate program of the Medical University of Vienna which provides students with challenging interrelated research fields derived from four topics of biomedical sciences: Immunology, Neurobiology, Vascular Biology & Inflammation research.
In line with the interdisciplinary philosophy of our PhD program, the workshop will cover the latest developments, open challenges and discussions on emerging topics and future directions related to NEUROBILOGY, CANCER BIOLOGY, INFLAMMATION, IMMUNITY and ALLERGY. The workshop will combine cell signaling issues, the frontiers, challenges, and unanswered questions, with discussion on emerging technologies and future directions related to signaling area.

Guests arriving from the Wien Schwechat airport can reach the Hörsaalzentrum by:
1. Taxi: Taxis are available right outside the airport terminal. It takes 20 – 25 mins to reach the conference venue from the airport with fares ranging from 40 – 45 € (higher during night time).
2. City Airport Train (CAT): CAT shuttles non-stop from the airport to Wien-Mitte Landstraße once in 30 mins (Operating time: 05:36 to 23:36). A single CAT ticket costs €12 and a return ticket costs €19 available in ticket vending machines within the airport. Destination time is 16 mins. From Wien-Mitte Landstraße, take U4 green metro line to Spittelau (towards Heiligenstadt). From Spittelau take U6 brown metro line to Michelbeuern AKH (towards Siebenhirten). Metro tickets can be bought through vending machines in the metro station.
3. Schnellbahn (S – Bahn) S7: S – Bahn S7 trains have the same route as that of CAT trains with multiple stops running once in every 15 – 30 mins. Journey time to Wien-Mitte Landstraße is 25 mins and a single ticket costs 4,20 €. From Wien Mitte, follow the same directions as given above for the CAT. S-Bahn tickets can be bought by ÖBB vending machines or ÖBB counters within the airport.
4. Bus: Vienna airport bus lines to Westbahnhof can be taken from the airport. Journey time is around 40 mins and a single way ticket costs 8€ (13€ for return ticket). Get down at Wien Westbahnhof and take U6 brown metro line to Michelbeuern AKH (towards Siebenhirten).
