Comparative Allergology, Immunology and Oncology
What makes an allergen molecule an allergen, and why do humans and other mammals express IgE immunoglobulin? It is our goal to answer these longstanding questions.
We are working with protein chemistry, cellular and molecular biology methods and are equipped with e.g. microchip laser scanner, FACS, Tissue FAX, real time PCR.
We are working in an interdisciplinary, international team settled in two excellently equipped labs, a) at the Institute of Pathophysiology and Allergy Research, Medical University Vienna, and b) at Comparative Medicine of Messerli Research Institute at the ground of the University of Veterinary Medicine Vienna.
The team is interacting tightly with clinics and teaching in master and PhD programs.
