Know-how and research interests:

As interventional cardiologist and critical care specialist Julia Mascherbauers interests cover various fields of clinical cardiology. These span interventional treatment of valvular heart disease, multimodality cardiovascular imaging, and heart failure, particularly heart failure with preserved ejection fraction (HFPEF).

She is particularly interested in outcome research in the field of transcatheter treatment of aortic, mitral, and tricuspid valve disease. Other projects focus on the prognostic importance of fibrosis markers as determined on cardiac magnetic resonance imaging and cardiac amyloidosis.
