Supervision of a doctoral thesis at the Medical University of Vienna generally requires experience in an appropriate track record of scientific excellence as well as preceding participation in an introductive seminar. To become a Supervisor in a doctoral program of endocrinology, admission to the » faculty of the program is necessary.
Candidates, who are already enrolled as Supervisors in another doctoral program of the University can join the faculty via a facilitated admission procedure. Please contact the » program coordinator.
Candidates, who are not yet enrolled as Supervisors in a doctoral program of the University, but gained experience in the supervision of doctoral theses otherwise, can apply for admission as full Supervisor along the admission procedure described below.
Candidates without preceding experience can apply for admission as Junior Supervisor along the admission procedure described below. During a thesis project, the Junior Supervisor is accompanied by a Senior Supervisor, who needs to be a full Supervisor of the faculty and who takes responsibility for the project by providing experience and advice.
Employment at the Medical Uiversity of Vienna is not conditional for becoming a supervisor.
