Propedeutics comprise a choice of groundbreaking medical and basic courses, which are the same for all doctoral programs implemented at the University. Six semester hours are obligatory.
Two courses, „Ethic and Good Scientific Practice” and “Project Management and Intellectual Property Rights” (1 semester hour each), are compulsory. The four remaining semester hours can be chosen from a pool of courses listed on the homepage of the Medical University as well as on the registration forms. The student selects courses by ticking them on the registration form. The selection made by the student is usually accepted, the only reservation being that the content of the courses needs to complement - not to repeat - any preceeding education. This is in particular so for the course "Molecular and Cell Biology for Medics" which is to supplement a preceeding medical education, whereas courses "Medical Propedeutics I & II" are meant for students who have not studied medicine.
Should the student later come to the conclusion that he/she actually prefers another course than originally ticked on the registration form, switching to another course is in principle possible.
