Prolongation of the CD laboratory until end 2018
Successful 5-year evaluation of the CDL RadOnc - Prolongation of research until the end of 2018 was recently approved
After the evaluation report (covering 2nd research period 2014 – 2016) was submitted end June to the CDG, the 5 years evaluation event took place on 26th July 2016. The evaluation event was chaired by Prof. Andrea Barta, Deputy Chair of the Christian Doppler Research Association, and Prof. Dr. Martin Pruschy from the University Hospital in Zürich acted as external reviewer. After opening remarks from Dr. Michaela Fritz, Vice-rector research of our University, and Prof. Richard Pötter, Chairman Department of Radiation Oncology, the our research activities and progress, as well our ambitious research plans for 2017 and 2018 were evaluated. Post-doc researchers, PhD students and affiliated researchers of the CDL RadOnc made up the core of the scientific program and gave excellent presentations. It was a great pleasure that representatives from all our industrial partners (ELEKTA, MedAustron, Siemens) contributed to the evaluation event by presenting their view on added value of our research collaborations. Special thanks to Prof. Wolfgang Dörr, who moderated the evaluation event with great commitment!
We are very glad to announce that Prof. Martin Pruschy and the senate of the Christian Doppler Research Association support the extension of our CD lab until the end of 2018. A few days ago we were officially notified by the CDG! We are looking forward to the 3rd and last funding period of the CD RadOnc, the continuation of our successful research activities that give all PhD students the possibility to finalize their exciting projects.
At this point we would like to thank all of you for your continuous support and commitment to the R&D activities in the framework of the CDL RadOnc that allows realizing our visions for the improvement and further development of radiation oncology.
