The aim of this master course is a scientific and practice oriented advanced education focusing on interdisciplinary case solution and function. The participants obtain detailed knowledge and skills grounded on basic dental education but going far beyond. As a logical consequence of theoretical and practical knowledge the participants will be able to precisely evaluate and investigate all available methods in a scinteific approach.
Emphasis is on interdisciplinary networking and teamwork within the related professional areas. These encompass not only all fields of dentistry including orthodontics, implantology and peiodontology, but also the interdisciplinary link to other medical areas like like maxillo facial surgery, psychology, psychiatry and physiotherapy, logopedics, orthopedics and ostheopathy.
Interdisciplinary diagnostics and therapy of dysfunctions of the masticatory organ are major subjects of this curriculum.
The curriculum connects theoretical knowledge concerning clinical practice with scientific knowledge. The aim is a scientifically guided clinical teaching following the rules of evidence based dentistry.
Interactive learning in a group setting should enable the participants to contribute to an improvement of dental helth of patients.
The modular structure of this course has been designed so that participants can attend alongside their full time work. Theory lectures cover the fields of therapy, orthodontics, prosthetics and interdisciplinary case planning and are completed by team work and journal clubs where scientific topics are presented to be discussed and worked out together.
