“Progress in the prevention and treatment of HIV in the Caribbean”

R. Clive Landis is Professor of Vascular Research,
Deputy Principal of The University of the West Indies
(UWI) Cave Hill Campus, and chair of the Task Force on
Zika of the University of West Indies. He currently also serves as Honorary Director of the Barbados Ministry of Health HIV laboratory. Following education at Birmingham University, UK and Loyola University of Chicago, USA, he was appointed the British Heart Foundation Lecturer in Cardiovascular Medicine at Imperial College London in 1996. He relocated to Barbados in 2003 where he founded the Edmund Laboratory for Vascular Research and the Immunology PhD program at Cave Hill Campus. Professor Landis’s research has been recognized with multiple awards, including the Marvin Levin MD Award, by the American Diabetes Association, the Principal’s Award for Excellence, and the Vice Chancellor’s Award for Excellence.
