(Vienna, 17 February 2020) The "Medical-scientific fund of the Mayor of the federal capital Vienna" is once again supporting numerous research projects at MedUni Vienna. In 2019, the charitable fund awarded a total of 812,473.10 euros to 47 principal investigators from the Medical University.

The "Medical-scientific fund of the Mayor of the federal capital Vienna" is a charitable fund set up in 1978 by the Mayor at the time, Leopold Gratz. Research projects can be submitted to the fund twice a year. The fund is chaired by the Executive Councillor of the Business Group for Social Affairs, Health and Women's Affairs, Sandra Frauenberger. Funding allocations average between 20,000 and 80,000 euros gross.
