Bilateral Action Schemes: Czech Republic, Slovakia and Hungary

The bilateral campaigns are programmes with Slovakia, the Czech Republic and Hungary. They promote academic mobility as well as cooperation projects in science, research and education.

Due to the latest developments in the Covid-19 crisis, the suspension of student exchange programs has been extended to the 2021/ 22 winter term. Study stays and traineeships therefore cannot take place in the framework of official programs before the start of the 2022 spring semester. The feasibility of student mobilities in the 2022 spring term will be evaluated at a later point in time. Further details will be published shortly.

A competence in Central European matters, professional networking and cross-border networks, language and culture are just a few benefits of the bilateral campaign programmes. Since 1989, Austria has cultivated an exchange in science, research and education with the Czech Republic, Slovakia and Hungary. The programmes are for staff and students of the universities as well as certain research institutions of the participating countries. A stay can last from three days to nine months and also be extended when indicated. Activities such as course attendance, research, cooperation and language courses can receive funding.

The application occurs through the Österreichische Austauschdienst OeAD, the recognition of the international study performance occurs in arrangement with the International Office for Student & Staff Affairs of MedUni Vienna.
