Requirements

  • a degree in Medicine, Dentistry, Natural sciences, Law, Classical Archaeology, Prehistory and Historical Archaeology (completed bachelor’s and master’s degrees, or a degree consisting of a minimum of 180 ECTS)
  • alternatively an equivalent degree from a recognised Austrian or foreign higher education institution
  • a master’s degree from a University of Applied Sciences in „Polizeiliche Führung“ („Police leadership”)

Requirements for applicants without a degree

  • a university entrance qualification, and
  • at least 8 years of professional experience in the executive (LKA, BKA) with at least 3 years' experience in the crime scene (LKA–Dep. Crime Scene), or forensic analysis (LKA–Dep. Criminal Investigations, BKA–Dep. Forensics and Technology) or
  • diploma in nursing and a minimum of five years’ professional experience in a health-care related field.
